Now that we’re on the last leg of 2013, the months are just flying by andnd the weather is changing just as quickly. It felt like we went from sweltering hot to cool and crisp overnight — but I’m not complaining. This month’s transitional weather called for a mix of light layers, darker colors, and my signature pop of prints. Check out of all of my looks from September and let me know which one’s your favorite!

I thought I’d go for an effortlessly edgy look with this outfit, but it turns out that it was a few weeks too late for warm weather leather. I wish you could’ve seen how much of a hot mess I was — after walking a few blocks, my skirt was completely turned around and it was so hot and humid, that the faux leather stuck to me like glue. After hiding behind a wall to adjust (#bloggerproblems), I got my life together and back on track to looking a little less frazzled and a bit more bedazzled.

I’ve been gushing about my excitement for summer since before spring even hit. And while it’s definitely my favorite season for adventures and travel, it’s also what I like to call rompin’ season! It’s been awhile, but I think you all know my affinity for this one piece wardrobe solution (seen here, here, here and here). I scooped up another one to add to my ever-growing collection and plan on living in this all summer long.
Today, I thought I’d share another one of my fail proof style formulas: stripes and florals. I’ve been wearing this combo a lot lately (last seen here and here) and as you know, when I find something I love, I stick to it! If you’ve been wanting to get into mixed prints, this is definitely the playful pairing to get you started. Take any thin-striped top (like this) and pair with different floral prints for a variety of summer savvy looks.
